Today, let’s us start our year by this. If you ever want to protect something, choose to protect your time! Here is the reason. Time is your most important resource. Once you’re running out of time, you lose the ability to do the things that you want to do! Have you ever wanted to spend more time with your loved one and enjoy the precious moment together? Have you ever dream to have the time to spend on your hobby and interest?

Here are 2 ways to protect your time. First, is the toughest of all. Say “NO” more often. Sometimes, I struggle with this as well. Most of the time, we’re people pleaser…. We say “YES” to almost all the request from everyone. Ranging from the workplace till the family. We tends to divide our time to everyone except ourselves. If you always say “YES”, you are constantly accessible to others. One quote from Micheal Hyatt really strike me hard “Giving everyone access to you actually reduces accessibility for the people who need you most”. It is so so true. If you spend the time always responding to other people agenda, you’ll have less and less time to spend with your loved one.

We are living in email world. We receive hundreds of emails every single day. If you constantly checking your email every single hours and responding to the emails, you can’t actually protect your time to work on your creation! Except that you’re working as customer service representative, responding to emails is your job.

Or else you always have the choice to check your email 4 times a day. You may said that you want to make other more comfortable to connect to you. Yes, at the same time, you’re sending signal to others that you’re always available and ready for them when they need you. I strongly suggest you check your email in this 4 times of your days. First in the morning, before lunch, after lunch and end of the day. By doing this, you’re training others to respect your time and you’ve the right to protect your precious time!

This is the same when it goes to social media. You may scroll thousands of facebook and instagram post every single day. By setting certain of time to engage with social media really can free you up with more time!

You’ re the guard standing at the gate to protect your own time, and no one will do this for you! You’re the one responsible to where your times goes. Be an excellent guardian to protect your precious time!
