You can DO EVERYTHING Better with this

SUMMARY

Welcome to the episode No.1 of this energy series. Let’s talk about energy. I deeply believe that energy is everything. Energy affects everything you do in your life, your work, your family, your relationship. In this energy series, I will guide you through step by step what are the factors that affect your energy and what you can do about it.

First, let us explore sleep. I use a few years to understand and discover about this topic. Sleep is the fundamental need of our bodies. Sleep affects everything in your life from your physical health, your emotional and cognitive. You do everything better with a good night's sleep. Lack of sleep can make you feel like a lack of energy.

The research study found out that with 90 minutes less sleep will cause 30% less brain power the following day. Your reaction time slows down by 33%; you think slower. In short, you can’t perform at your best if you lack sleep — the probability of making the wrong decision increase too. Besides, your metabolism slows down, your stress hormone cortisol increase, your appetite increase. You tend to make the wrong food choice and become unhealthy.

What can you do about it? The key here is to find your sleeping schedule. Each person has an individual sleep schedule. Some people may need 7 hours of sleep. Some may need 6 hours or less. Do some experiments and find it out. After years of testing, I finally found mine. I need 7 hours of sleep every single day. Less than 7 hours, I can’t perform at my best.

Then, I want you to stick to the one sleep schedule. Wake up at the same time every single day, including your weekend. If every weekend, you sleep later than your usual sleeping hour and wake up then in the morning or even afternoon, you’re disturbing your circadian rhythms. So, stick with it.

Avoid using your electronic devices at least half an hour before bed. Because the blue light emitted from the electronic devices will suppress the sleeping hormone, melatonin, and makes you awake.
