Have you ever asked yourself this question before? Who you love the most? I run a survey recently to a lot of people. Their ultimate answer is the name of their parents, kids, spouse or significance others.
That is perfectly correct if you said your family members, your children or your spouse! You are alright! But, do you have a moment to think about it, do you love yourself while you spend your whole life to love others? How many of us show the same care, same love, same attention towards ourselves?
I always said I will not fall in love with those that do not know how to take care of himself. Because if he do not even know how to love himself, how I expect him to love me? Self love is the prerequisite before you love others!
Remember the announcement that you will listen to when you are on board a flight? They will announce you need to put on your oxygen mask first before you help those beside you! This scenario is telling us that we need to take a good care of ourselves first before others. It is because if you did not take a good care of yourself, and you fall sick, how you have the energy to care to those you loved? It is as simple as that.
Remember, self love is not selfishness! If you don’t love yourself, how you can love others?
You are the one that you will spend the whole life with. People with more self love have been shown to be able to overcome difficulty in life and have better problem solving abilities, greater resilience and increased happiness!
