Here comes the end of December 2019. It’s time to do R and R for this year. Yes, R and R stand for reflect and review. It’s important to do a review and reflect on the end of the year. Remember what I said before: what doesn’t measure, is not real.
First, set a time before the end of this year, whether it is this week or the last day of the year. I personally love the last day of the year. Whatever it is, set a suitable time and place, which means no other disturbance — only you. If you’re like me, have a journal that record down what you do and how you feel for the whole year, take out your baby journal and read it page by page.
There are several important areas of our life - Our health, Family, Career, Relationship, Financial, Emotional, Intellectual, and Personal. Give yourself a rating for all these.
Then, ask yourself a few questions. First: What do I do best this year, and how do I feel? Answer it and give yourself a pad on your shoulder said: Well done, buddy! It’s important to encourage and cheer yourself up to motivate yourself to move forward!
Second question: What do I learn most from my experience this year? Write down the lesson and remind yourself that you’re not going to repeat the same mistake. Because if you repeat the same mistake, it is your choice already. If by now, you’re wondering how do you remember all this? That’s we need a journal to write down and record our experience. I have my baby journal.
Third question: How do I feel overall about this year? Do I improve compare to last year? If yes, what makes me succeed in what I did in 2019, and how do I feel about it? If no, what makes me fail to achieve my goals in 2019, and how do I feel about it? Answer the questions and write them down.
If you notice, I continue to ask you about how do you feel about it. It’s important to feel how you feel do that you can connect your heart feeling and your mind to make sure you’re aligned with what you do and how you feel.
Next week, I’m going to share with you what you can do to set a new year resolution that you’re going to achieve. Not just saying, but you’re going to made it happen!
