If you want to have a great relationship with those around you, you got to work on it. If you start to feel your relationship with others is getting lesser connection, here is what you must do now!
Be intentional schedule the time to spend together! No matter who they are, your parents, your sisters, your brother, your uncle, your aunt, your friends, your spouse, your kids, your staff, your co-workers and etc. How long your never sit down and really talk to those people that you always want to connect to? May be you are busy with your daily activities or your career or your kids.. until you don’t contact each other for a long long time. Does this sound familiar to you? That is why you need to be intentional to schedule the time to meet up each other. Remember, because you schedule it on your calendar, it will happen! You start to invite the person for the meet up or gathering. Get a time and sit down to chat, knowing each other life and really communicate.
When it comes to communication, you must make sure you listen to understand, not listen to respond. A lot of us tense to listen to respond and miss out a lot of clue of the real emotion behind the person that we really talking to. Make sure that you use your eyes, ears and heart. See, hear and feel what they say and their body language. Especially the body language, it leaves a lot of clue for us to really know how exactly how the person is feeling. That’s how you can connect with others effectively.
We live in the technology world. You can connect with the person at the other corner of the world no matter where you are now with your smart phone! So, use it to your benefit! Give them a call once in a while. Who comes to your mind right now? Pick up your phone and call this person! Say hello and ask how are you recently? I always believe a genuine concern can touch the heart of many!
